A•MANO creates handmade Capri sandals in our workshop on the island of Capri, using genuine Italian leather and traditional artisanal techniques. Each pair is made to order and finished by hand, with particular attention to fit, comfort and detail.

A New Generation of Capri Sandal Makers

A•MANO was founded by two sisters who grew up in their family’s sandal workshop in Anacapri, surrounded by leather, tools and the traditional techniques used to make Capri sandals by hand.

After learning the craft in our family workshop, we decided to create a brand of our own: preserving the construction, quality and craftsmanship of the traditional Capri sandal while giving it a more contemporary identity.

Today, we combine the techniques we grew up with, with our own approach to colour, materials and design, creating sandals that remain rooted in Capri’s artisanal tradition while reflecting a more modern Mediterranean style.

Made by hand in our Capri workshop

Every pair of A•MANO Capri sandals is individually made in our workshop in Capri.

From preparing the leather and constructing the sole to positioning the straps, fitting and finishing, the different stages are carried out by hand using the traditional techniques of Capri sandal-making.

Our Capri sandals are not mass-produced. Each pair is made one at a time and finished specifically for the person who will wear it.

The Traditional Capri Sandal Sole

At the heart of every A•MANO sandal is the traditional leather sole.

It is constructed from multiple layers of genuine Italian leather, pressed and stitched together rather than simply glued. Inside, a metal arch support gives the sandal structure and helps it retain its shape over time.

The heel is built from layers of leather and finished with non-slip rubber, combining the traditional construction of the Capri sandal with durability for everyday wear.

Genuine Italian leather

We work with genuine Italian leather, including calf and goat leather, selected according to the design, softness, colour and finish of each sandal.

Alongside classic natural leathers, our collections explore metallic finishes, braided leather, velvet, colour and decorative details. The materials may change from one design to another, but the construction and craftsmanship behind each pair remain the same.

Made to order, Made to fit

Each A•MANO sandal is made to order.

Customers can choose their style, leather, colour and details. In our Capri workshop, the straps are positioned and fixed by hand using traditional small nails rather than simply glued into place, allowing the fit to be adjusted to the individual foot before the sandal is finished.

The result is a pair of handmade Capri sandals created specifically for you.

Traditional Craftsmanship, Contemporary Capri Style

Our designs begin with the traditional Capri sandal, but they do not end there.

A•MANO was created to bring the craftsmanship we inherited into a more contemporary world: new colours, unexpected materials, braided details, velvet, metallic finishes and designs inspired by the effortless style of the island.

For us, preserving a tradition does not mean leaving it unchanged. It means knowing how it is made, respecting its construction and giving it a new expression.
